While we here at Caldwell Photographic Studio are a bit biased and think the list of reasons to do a boudoir session are endless, we thought we'd narrow it down a bit for you and give our top reasons for doing a boudoir session.

1. It's the perfect wedding gift or anniversary gift to your significant other

A boudoir album is a great gift to give on your wedding day or on an anniversary. Your significant other already thinks you're beautiful so why not surprise them with gorgeous photos you took just for them. You can give them the album before you walk down the aisle or you can gift it to them at the end of your wedding night when it's just the two of you. No matter what it is a gift they will love because it's you!!

2. It's a great way to celebrate a milestone.

Maybe you're about to have a milestone birthday, or you had a recent accomplishment or you just reached a personal goal. Celebrate yourself!! You deserve to feel sexy and confident and celebrate reaching your goals. Whether you've been working hard to get that promotion or you've been working on your fitness and reached a goal you set for yourself or you just want to celebrate turning 40, treat yourself with a boudoir session to capture that moment in time.

3. Commemorate your 20's or 30's or 40's or 50's - you get the idea.

We love the idea of commemorating your years. Whether it's a milestone birthday or just an age that means something to you, why not celebrate the occasion. Make it an annual/bi-annual/5 year/10 year tradition for yourself and mark your life's journey. Imagine getting to look back and see yourself through the years.

4. It's a great excuse to get pampered and to shop

A boudoir shoot is a great excuse to accomplish any or all of these things. You can make a day of the whole thing. Start your day with a relaxing mani and/or pedi, get your hair and makeup done and then come to the studio and rock your amazing outfits!! Indulge yourself for a day!!

Trust us when we tell you that by the end of your session you will feel like you can take on anything!! Nervousness and questions may by your first thoughts and emotions about your session, but we know once you get to the studio you are going to have a great time. We want you to enjoy yourself and have fun and feel at ease. Stephanie always keeps everything light and fun and you'll be smiling or laughing throughout your whole session. And then just wait until you get a sneak peek of your photos- you'll be blown away.

6. It's an amazing gift to yourself.

Above all else, we think a boudoir session is the ultimate gift to yourself. You deserve to celebrate yourself and you should. So why not take this opportunity to do just that. Stephanie absolutely loves to travel and there's nothing better than when she gets to combine both of her loves- travel and photography!!

Back in August, Stephanie made a special trip to Boston for a fun filled boudoir shoot weekend. Stacie Otto, from Fairytale Hair & Makeup, joined her as well to glam up the ladies for their sessions. And boy did they all have a fabulous time!!

"I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my boudoir experience with Stephanie. This was something that was so outside of my comfort zone. I was on the fence for a while if I even wanted to do this shoot because I was so anxious about it. I am quite self conscious and the idea of being so exposed to someone I barely knew was scary. However, as soon as I started talking to Stephanie, those fears went away. I knew as I started talking to her that the atmosphere for my shoot would be incredible. Sure enough, as soon as I arrived at the shoot location in Boston, I was greeted with a friendly face and instantly felt at ease. Stephanie makes you feel so empowered, confident, and beautiful. I wasn’t worried about how my body was posed or if I was at a flattering angle. I knew that Stephanie had my back. I was able to just enjoy the experience and have fun with it. When the pictures came back, I was stunned. Stephanie knocked it out of the park and I am so excited to surprise my fiance with these photos as a wedding gift. I can’t recommend Stephanie enough. If you have an opportunity to work with her, do it! You won’t regret it."

"I was really excited to have the opportunity to work with Stephanie for a boudoir shoot. I was unable to book her for my wedding day, so when I heard she was coming to Boston for boudoir sessions I thought what a great opportunity to work with Stephanie, but also to have the perfect 1-year anniversary present for my husband. And how convenient that she came to shoot a group of us in the area! I never would have thought this would be a possibility. I did have some apprehension about doing the shoot, as I am pretty self-conscious about my body, but once I arrived at the shoot, Stephanie was very understanding and she clearly has a knack for capturing people’s best features and using lighting and angles to full advantage. The shoot location she selected was also beautiful, and had a lovely wall of windows showing off the Boston skyline. I’m hoping my husband and I will be able to do photos with her again for a future milestone anniversary."

Tips for Your Boudoir Session

Getting ready for your boudoir session can seem pretty intimidating at first. You might find that you have a lot of questions and aren't quite sure where to begin. So we want to share all our favorite tips on how to prepare for your upcoming boudoir session!!

Bring too many outfit options

Bring all your favorite outfits with you to your shoot and Stephanie can help you narrow it down. There might be some outfits you are feeling more that day than others, so it's good to have them all with you. It's always better to have too many options than not enough. Also, if you have a top favorite or a must do outfit, make sure you let Stephanie know, so you can use that one first.

Lingerie isn't your only option

You can rock an oversized sweater, a button down, a cami and shorts or sports jersey and some cheeky panties and still be boudoir. Your options are really endless!! Bring things that make you feel amazing.

Try on everything

Try on all your outfits and accessories before your shoot. This is a great way to find which outfits are your favorites, which outfits make you feel amazing and which outfits you may want to skip out on. If you purchased anything new or new accessories to use with things you already have, this is a great way to test them all out together and see if they are the look you were hoping for. By the end of your try on session you'll know what your complete outfits look like and which you want to bring to your shoot.

Wear loose fitting clothes to your shoot

When you're on your way to your hair and makeup appointment and to your shoot, make sure to wear comfy, loose fitting clothes. Skip anything tight that will leave an impression on your skin.

Do a test run for things

If you plan to fake tan, color your hair, try something new with your nails, etc., try and do a test run before your shoot. This way you can work out any potential kinks and make adjustments so things look just the way you'd like for your shoot!!

Moisturize

Don't forget to lotion up right before your shoot. This will give your skin such a great healthy glow. Also, drinking lots of water the days leading up to your shoot will help keep your skin looking healthy. You want that gorgeous glowy skin for all your photos!!

Stay out of the sun

Try to avoid the sun a few days before your shoot. This way you can avoid getting tan lines or avoid the possibility of sunburn. If you can't stay out of the sun, make sure to use lots of sunscreen!!

Get your beauty sleep

You might be anxious or excited but try to get plenty of sleep leading up to your shoot so you look and feel your best!!

Most importantly, have fun at your shoot!!

September Boudoir Mini Sessions

During the month of September we are offering Boudoir Mini Sessions!! This is a perfect way to get comfortable in front of the camera and it's a really great value. For our mini sessions you get an in studio session that is about 30-45 minutes long where we showcase you in 1 outfit of your choosing (2 outfits are possible if time permits). With these mini sessions you also get your photos edited the same day!! After your shoot that day, Stephanie will provide you with a website link with all your gorgeous photos!! So there is no waiting to see all your beautiful images!!

Dina & Joe Marco Island

Dina & Joe had a fairytale wedding like no other. They opted to have there wedding at the Beautiful J W Marriott Marco Island. This destination wedding was complete with over 100 guests in attendance. You could definitely feel the love all around them. We started photographing Dina in her bridal suite. Then moved to the lobby where we then orchestrated the first look. The 1st look was like non other we've seen. Dina's brother decided to have his on fun. Dressed in his best wedding attire he had to have a 1st look with the groom as well. After a bit of fun we then had a beautiful 1st look between Dina and Joe. Mallory & Joe Disney Cruiseline Wedding

Mallory and Joe's nuptials were something out of a fairytale for sure. They tied the knot aboard the Disney Dream in November 2018. The day was filled with a lot of fun and laughter.

Their story started in high school.

Mallory: Joe and I met through my twin cousins who went to high school with Joe. Joe and I started dating when I was a Senior in High School and he was a Freshman in College. Joe recreated a scene from my favorite movie, "You've Got Mail" in NYC to propose and we recently relocated from NJ to Georgia. How amazing!! Let the photos speak for themselves.

Hanna & PJ Halloween engagement

When Hanna contacted us to inquire about a Halloween Horror Night engagement session... We jumped on the chance. This has been the most fun session we done.

Hanna & Pj have loved Halloween for as long as they can remember. Therefore it was only fitting that they have a Halloween engagement and better please to do so than at HHN.

We started with Some STRANGER things surrounding us!

Then found some safety in the old church.

As we took a stroll through central park... We encountered a rather peculiar pumpkin patch with goulash creatures!

We found ourselves hopping a train out of the there. Just to be transported to a magical world...

What a magical place it was. Dragons and beasts the complete the experience.

Then away we went to 1985 vampire folk lore.

At that moment we notice lots of individuals just clowning around.

Suddenly they wanted all our attention. Luckily there was a nice safe dark alley we were able to duck into.

Only then could be get a nice close look at that beautiful ring of Hannas. Nice Job PJ!!

Anne and Lance were married in the amazing Las Vegas NV. Choosing Carmine's in the beautiful Ceasar's Palace for the rehearsal dinner. Then the wedding location was off the iconic Vegas strip at Paiute Golf Resort. It was such a picture perfect location. Complete with stunning views of NV mountainous desert. This amazing event couldn't had happen with out the great work of Regina from Vegas Wedding Planner

Universal Photo sessions

Jana & Kevin were a dream couple to photograph. They went with all my HP geekery. I just had the best time putting them into the scenes of each location we chose to photograph.

We met them inside Diagon Alley as soon as the park gates opened. Then spent two hours photographing in each park. I strongly suggest getting an annual pass. This will allow you to be in the park one hour early. Besides that is give you an excuse to come back to the amazing world of Harry Potter in the future.

I cant get enough of Universal and all it has to offer. Come have fun and be your own WIZARD!
